Town today seemed like another sunday and i saw alot of couples holding hands strolling along the shopping centres. As a festive celebrating day, christmas eve seemed much more recognized than Christmas day itself. Businesses do better, streets are alot more rowdy. Nope, you cant even walk at gear 1, have to use clutch. To everyone, the count down seconds to the arrival of the festive is rapturous. The genuine christian will be singing holy songs pledging bibles in the church OR, holding a boisterous christmas party at home, exchanging gifts and wishes, OR spending the night at town with a large group of english-speaking, zealous church mates @ N.Y.D.C/New York New York. For the ones who merely love the reason of being able to immense in the ambience of christmas, for the joy of participating in the activity, spending a week or so on the christmas cards, picking christmas presents, receiving loves, sms, gifts, cards, just for the sake of being able to spend the christmas meaningfully, christmas eve is sufficient. Just like mine.
Of course wouldnt rule out the possibility for the "sunday" christmas; that after a night of fun, people will be sleeping like a log till the sun set and rain came; holding a formal christmas party at home after all the joy on the streets; staying home to prepare oneself for work before tuesday comes. Sometimes i wonder: Or is it our people is growing keen to nightlife? Or . . is it afterall our happiness had become much more shortlived? that people hope to enjoy the very first moment of something, that after a few hours or even 2 hours, one could no longer feel the happiness and the joy of the atmosphere in the air anymore when everyone leaves and set for home? that in the afternoon of christmas, you dont think its christmas anymore. that despite Chinese New Year last for 15, or 30 days, but at the 5th or 6th, we dont FEEL it is still Chinese New Year. As its just feels like any other day when the homework have to be done and go to school the next day. As our parents have to start work around the 3rd or 4th in order to earn and feed the whole family. While the weeks before are always busy and business is buzzing.
The same goes to the Dumpling Festival Day or Mid Autumn Day. Occasionally, its not the actual day itself that we get to indulge in the fun blissfully. It is the preparation period to the actual period, a process to experience to truly enjoy the festival. Hence i urge the anglo, westernized youngster; In order not to feel that Chinese New Year is a boring and tedious period to go through, remember to help with your parents during the preparation for Chinese New Year in order to truly enjoy the precious CNY indulgement u get once a year.
Dined @ Joarium with my family. I gotta say they had very very tasty soupss. Or is it salty? Erms. Anyways, i met a korean family today. They had two very PRETTY boys. I was thinking "wah future handsomes" One is in a pram, another, a kid.
