22nd June!
HAPPY 20TH BIRTHDAY TO ME!
Currently, birthday doesnt mean something it might have meant to everybody.
Since a child, I have birthday party every year. It was till around my end-teenage years that i told my parents i no longer wanted any parties, grand celebrations. I came to look at birthdays in a different light.
During one of the days of my tough basketball trainings in secondary school, my coach taught us this. "On today, ___ years ago, your mother took great pains to give birth to you. Then she took great effort to feed you. To teach you. To groom you. To worry about you. Thank her with all your heart on this day instead of screwing for ideas to whip up a celebration for yourself" I thought he was such a spoil spot as that day was one of my team mates' birthday. Also, as I haven really come to that stage yet to think for others before self, though we knew what he meant. I believe as we grew older, our thoughts will begin steering towards his directions. Indirectly, am i accusing my coach of being old? haha.
Anyways, very happy that ive met many people these days because of my birthday.
Can you imagine i even have post birthday celebrations.
Also receive many many well-wishes and pressies & FAT hongbaos from parents.
Thankyou guys, from the bottom of my heart. <3
