Had a late lecture but intended to crash the earlier at 12 so i wont get the day wasted. Was around 1130 when i wanted to leave the house~ Suddenly got a tummy ache~ After im done, its gonna be a little late to crash the lecture. So changed my mind and i went for a movie! Quite shiok. That i was going out few hours earlier for school and i sneaked in a movie session in amidst!

Painted Skin. Been wanting to watch this movie badly after i heard caught its mv on youtube. For a few times during the movie, Vicky Zhao's expression reminded me that of Rose in Titanic. Its fantastic because till to-date i haven had any actresses who can do that. I cant explained how hard i have tried to hold back my tears as i cringed myself to the seat yet the tears just kept rolling rolling. Despite this, i wasnt saying Vicky reminded how i cried for Titanic~ Its her acting. If werent for her bubbly face, she'd looked so much better than Zhou Xun, the fox vixen character, whos also a vital lead to the movie. Painted skin is quite crafty, to have made me love it so much by attaching our emotions to its characters. That, now I do feel like watching it again or buy its DVD with uncut scenes. Otherwise, this movie would have been a flop.

Both the women leads indeed added so much colours to the story that the three male characters paled in comparison. The general Chen Kun looked suave in his armour but without it, he just appeared like one of the tag-alongs in the beggar gang. With a body of good martial arts, at least Donnie Yen garnered some respect for himself in the movie within the pathetic role he was given. Qi Yu Wu is very lucky to have a participation in such a great hit. All i could say is Singapore actors really gotta try harder. The slow pace might sleep some moviegoers too. It also caused the PD to cut away alot of scenes, which is a regret. Because there isnt a decent development into each of the characters. Shall pardon it, given the fact that its just a medium budgeted 100minute movies.

Painted skin surprised me yet disappointed me a little little because the horror factor is being watered down by excessive romance. I was hoping for a balance of the two.
